Viktor Hovland WITB 2023: What's in the Norwegian sensations golf bag?

Viktor Hovland is one of the rising stars of the golf world, having won four times on the PGA Tour and once on the European Tour. The Norwegian sensation is also a Ping staff player, but he does mix some other brands in his bag as well.

Let's take a First Look Golf look at what's in Viktor Hovland's golf bag and how he uses his equipment to achieve his impressive results.

Driver: Ping G425 LST

Hovland uses a Ping G425 LST driver, which is designed to reduce spin and increase stability for faster swing speeds. He has it set to 9 degrees of loft and uses a Fujikura Speeder TR 661 TX shaft, which is 45.5 inches long and tipped half an inch.

Fairway Wood: TaylorMade Stealth Plus

Hovland carries a TaylorMade Stealth Plus fairway wood, which features a carbon crown and a Twist Face technology for more forgiveness and distance. He has it set to 15 degrees of loft and uses a Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X shaft. Hovland hits his fairway wood about 280 yards on average.

Hybrid: Ping G425

Hovland occasionally swaps his fairway wood for a Ping G425 hybrid, which has a thin maraging steel face and a Facewrap design for easy launch and long shots. He has it set to 19 degrees of loft and uses a Fujikura Ventus Blue 9 X shaft. Hovland uses his hybrid mainly for long par-3s or tight par-4s.

Irons: Ping i210

Hovland plays with Ping i210 irons, which are forged from soft stainless steel and have an elastomer insert for better feel and sound. He has them from 4-iron to pitching wedge and uses KBS Tour V 120 X shafts.

Wedges: Ping Glide Forged Pro 4.0 (50-12s, 56-12s) and Ping Glide Forged Pro 2.0 (58-06, 60-06)

Hovland has four Ping Glide Forged Pro wedges in his bag. His 50 and 56 degree wedges are 4.0 models and his two 2.0 Glide wedges are set at 58 and 60 degrees. The two lower lofted wedges have KBS Tour V 130 X shafts, whilst True Temper Dynamic Golf Tour Issue S400 make up his most lofted clubs.

Putter: Ping PLD Anser Prototype

Hovland uses a Ping PLD Anser Prototype putter, which is a classic blade design with a copper finish and some custom stamping. He has it at 34 inches long.

Ball: Titleist Pro V1

Hovland plays with a Titleist Pro V1 ball, which is one of the most popular balls among tour players. It offers a combination of distance, spin, feel and durability. Hovland likes the consistency and performance of the Pro V1 ball.

Apparel: J.Lindeberg

Hovland wears J.Lindeberg apparel, which is a Swedish brand that combines fashion and function. He likes the fit and style of their clothes, as well as their sustainability efforts.
