With the 2023 Solheim Cup just around the corner, we're taking a look at the course that'll be hosting one of the biggest tournaments in golf.
Andalusia at its finest
The biennial event will be hosted this year at Finca Cortesin, which is located in one of the most sought-after enclaves of the Andalusian coast on a vast 215-hectare estate. The impressive all-suite independent hotel, which opened in March 2009, is set in the rolling hills of Southern Spain between Marbella and Sotogrande.
Finca Cortesin is flanked by the Casares Mountains with sweeping views of the Mediterranean coastline.
Finca Cortesin’s heritage within golf is well documented. It is known for its magnificent championship golf course that is ranked one of the finest in Spain. Opened in 2006 and designed by world leading golf course architect, Cabell Robinson, the course is highly-rated for its commitment to the environment, incorporating the area’s natural flora and fauna into its layout, with rolling fairways and undulating greens. It was recently named ‘Spain’s Best Golf Course’ at the 2022 World Golf Awards.
The Par 72 course sits at 7,500 yards making it one of the longest layouts in Europe. It's renowned for its wide fairways and large, undulating greens, as well as its 100 strategically placed bunkers.
“It is an amazing resort! Finca Cortesin is definitely the best venue of the Solheim Cup. It has so many fantastic facilities with an incredible hotel and one of Europe’s best golf courses.”
