Rory McIlroy secures 24th career PGA TOUR win at Genesis Scottish Open with commanding performance

In a gripping display Rory McIlroy emerged victorious at the Genesis Scottish Open, capturing his 24th career PGA Tour win.

Battling challenging windy conditions and strong competition, McIlroy's exceptional performance propelled him to the top of the leaderboard on the final hole of the tournament.

McIlroy showcased his consistently carding rounds in the 60s. His final round 68 included crucial birdies on the 11th, 14th, 17th, and 18th holes, securing his victory ahead of the The 151st Open at Royal Liverpool this month. This win marked McIlroy's 16th career DP World Tour win and his second consecutive triumph in the Rolex Series.

A standout moment in the final round was McIlroy's unrivaled ability to drive the ball with astounding power and accuracy. With his Stealth 2 Plus 9.0° driver, he recorded an impressive six drives over 350-yards. Notable among them were his drives on the 3rd hole, covering an astonishing distance of 382-yards, and his 7th hole drive, which spanned an incredible 428-yards. McIlroy's remarkable driving skills set him apart from his competitors in this tournament.

McIlroy's success in converting 56 percent of his 54-hole leads/co-leads on the PGA Tour showcases his ability to perform under pressure. This marked his 32nd 54-hole lead/co-lead worldwide, of which he has now converted 17 out of 31. Notably, McIlroy has proven to be formidable when holding a 1-shot lead heading into the final round, with a track record of 4 wins out of 7 such instances.
