PICKS AND PREDICTIONS: LIV Golf returns to Chicago as Cameron Smith aims to defend title

The highly anticipated LIV Golf tournament is set to return to Chicago, the site of last year's triumph for Australian golfer Cameron Smith in both the individual and team categories. As the exciting event approaches, the stakes are high for all participating players and teams.
Smith, the defending champion, has been in exceptional form this season, securing two victories and currently leading the season-long Individual Champion points standings. His recent dominant performance resulted in a seven-stroke triumph in Bedminster, marking the largest individual winning margin in LIV Golf history.
In addition to his personal success, Smith also led his all-Australian team, Ripper GC, to their first team trophy at the Bedminster tournament. This victory marked the eighth different team to win a LIV Golf tournament, highlighting the competitive nature of the series.
As the 2023 regular season nears its conclusion, only two more tournaments remain to determine the Individual Champion and the seeding for the season-ending Team Championship in Miami. Five teams, including 4Aces GC, Torque GC, Stinger GC, Crushers GC, and RangeGoats GC, remain in contention for the top four seeds, which will grant them first-round byes in the Team Championship.
However, it's not just the teams battling for seeding; individual players are also in the spotlight. Jediah Morgan, James Piot, Chase Koepka, and Sihwan Kim currently find themselves in the Drop Zone, with two tournaments left to improve their status and secure a favorable seeding for the Individual Championship.
As the golfing world eagerly awaits the Chicago tournament, anticipation is high for another thrilling display of elite golf. With the defending champion aiming to retain his title, and several others fighting for qualification and improved standings, LIV Golf promises to deliver yet another unforgettable chapter in its young history.
PICKS AND PREDICTIONS:
It’s hard to look past the defending champion in Chicago given his recent form on the LIV Golf tour. Whilst it‘s a little unadventurous… that’s our pick! The bookies price currently sits at 8/1.
We think Dustin Johnson is overdue a result given last years performances too. He currently sits at 14/1. Other potential American winners includes Brooks Koepka (18/1), Talor Gooch (16/1) and Bryson DeChambeau (12/1).
