Major champion Justin Leonard joins star-studded PGA TOUR Champions field for 2023

Major Champion Justin Leonard and PGA TOUR winner Notah Begay III will make their 2023 PGA TOUR Champions domestic debuts at the Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO.

Taking place 17-19 Feb at Tiburón Golf Club’s Black Course, the Chubb Classic is Naples’ flagship PGA TOUR Champions event, now entering its 36th year.

Leonard, who turned 50 in June, made his PGA TOUR Champions debut at the 2022 Bridgestone SENIOR PLAYERS Championship. The 1997 Open Champion and longtime Golf Channel and NBC Sports analyst intends to compete across the full season on PGA TOUR Champions in 2023.

Begay III, a multiple PGA TOUR winner and a Golf Channel and NBC Sports analyst, turned 50 last September and made his PGA TOUR Champions debut at the Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS in October of 2022. He will compete in a full schedule on PGA TOUR Champions while appearing in key roles for Golf Channel and NBC Sports.

Sandy Diamond, executive director for the Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO, said: “We are excited about the continued strong level of commitments to our field for the Chubb Classic, and we look forward to celebrating the legends of the game in February.

“The tournament is shaping up to feature one of the strongest fields in recent history.”

These players will be among a 78-player field featuring major champions, Hall-of-Famers and past champions competing in the 54-hole championship Friday-Sunday 17-19 February, for a share of the $1.8 million purse.
