From today, TaylorMade have made available the newest model of their hugely popular TP5 and TP5x golf balls. According to the company, the 2024 models take 'a giant leap forward with an all-new Speed Wrapped Core that impacts sound, feel and overall performance, creating TaylorMade’s fastest (TP5x) and softest feeling (TP5) tour balls to date.'

When did the TP5 & TP5x first launch?

Since its debut in 2017, the TP5/TP5x franchise has consistently set the benchmark for premium performance across all levels of the game. With its proprietary 5-layer construction, this line has continuously evolved to elevate tee-to-green play, integrating breakthrough technologies that enhance distance, wind stability, and greenside control.

In 2019, TaylorMade revolutionized the game with the introduction of the Speed-Layer System, integrating High-Flex Material (HFM) into the TP5/TP5x construction, unlocking unparalleled speed for golfers of every caliber.

Building upon this success in 2021, the brand further advanced its legacy with the introduction of the Tour Flight Dimple Pattern. This innovative design not only maximizes aerodynamics but also reduces wind resistance, resulting in enhanced carry distance for players seeking ultimate performance on the course.

What is different about the 2024 TP5 & TP5x models?

Continuing its tradition of groundbreaking innovation and precision engineering, the 2024 TP5/TP5x introduces a host of cutting-edge technologies that promise the most significant leaps in performance yet.

At the forefront of these advancements is the revolutionary Speed Wrapped Core, a pioneering feature that not only delivers a softer sound and enhanced feel but also facilitates a faster overall construction.

Incorporating core materials as the central element for decoupling feel and distance, the 2024 TP5/TP5x represents a game-changing innovation in golf ball design. This groundbreaking approach sets a new standard for performance, promising unparalleled distance, control, and feel on every shot.

This year, TaylorMade introduces a groundbreaking evolution of the patented Speed Gradient construction, a defining feature of the TP5/TP5x franchise. The 2024 TP5/TP5x showcases a new progressive 5-layer design empowered by the Speed Wrapped Core, enhancing variable stiffness between the core and mantle layers for unprecedented performance.

As a consequence, there's a decrease in spin on drivers and long irons, coupled with an improvement in spin control for wedges. This variability in spin across different clubs maximizes the potential of five-layer technology, ensuring that the new TP5/TP5x retains its prominent status as the ultimate tour ball.

What is the difference between the TP5 & TP5x?

TP5 and TP5x offer distinct options tailored to different player preferences. TP5, TaylorMade's softest 5-layer Tour ball, delivers a notably softer feel with enhanced spin around the green. Perfect for players valuing touch and precision in their short game, TP5 provides responsive control while maintaining its best-in-class greenside performance.

TP5x emerges as TaylorMade's fastest 5-layer Tour ball, prioritizing ball speed for golfers seeking increased velocity off the clubface. With reduced driver and long iron spin, TP5x focuses on distance while preserving greenside control, making it ideal for players aiming for lower driver spin and faster ball speeds compared to the previous generation product.

When is the 2024 TP5 & TP5x available?

The 2024 TP5 and TP5x will hit retail shelves on February 15, 2024.

How much does the 2024 TP5 & TP5x cost?

They have a suggested retail price of $54.99 USD per dozen.
