Callaway Staff Professional Callum Shinkwin powered his way home to his second DP World Tour title at the 2022 Cazoo Open in Wales at the weekend.

Callum put on a sublime final day performance on his way to a four-shot victory. His final 18 holes included six birdies and at one point he was six shots clear of his nearest rival, before claiming the title and the €297,500 winner’s cheque.

Shinkwin said: “I feel great, even though I had a few shots of a lead heading into the back nine it’s still not easy, especially when Connor then made a charge. There was a lot of pressure still and even down the last, it’s not an easy hole, a lot of people have made a high number there even if they’ve hit the fairway. It’s still one of those ones you have to commit to with your shots.

“There were no crowds in Cyprus and I was behind going into the final round then shot a great score and won in the play-off. Here I was in the lead heading into the final round and obviously it went very tight, then big gap, then tight-ish again. It’s much different this time.

“Connor didn’t really come into it until he eagled 11, he was four under at the time, then he didn’t do anything straight after that. But then he birdied 15, 16 and 17 and the 17th was the big one for me, holing that par putt to guarantee a three-shot lead going down the last.

“I changed putter recently and I was using that exact same model three years ago, so I just kind of altered it. Instead of using a line on the top I put a dot and ever since then I’ve been rolling the ball really well.

“The scores haven’t been there before this but this week was my week. Winning anywhere is fantastic, it’s a great feeling, winning with family and friends here it means so much more.”

The 29-year old Englishman’s winning bag included the Rogue ST LS Driver and Fairway Woods, the new JAWS Raw Wedges, Chrome Soft X Golf Ball and Odyssey Toulon Putter.

Neil Howie, President and Managing Director of Callaway EMEA, concluded: “Our products are proving to be decisive for our team of Staff Professionals as they continue to claim key Tour titles around the globe. Congratulations go to Callum, who dominated this DP World Tour event and made the difficult task of winning an important tournament, look very easy.”

The Rogue ST Triple Diamond LS Driver is a low spin option for better players and is the latest evolution of Callaway’s Tour-proven Triple Diamond heads. It’s the lowest spinning Rogue ST Driver model, with a neutral-to-fade bias in a compact 450cc head.

Rogue ST LS Fairway Woods feature a deeper face with a compact footprint especially suited for better players. The 28g Tungsten Speed Cartridge and forward weight screw push the CG forward for low spin, while the shape and face profile make this Callaway’s most fade-capable fairway wood.

JAWS Raw Wedges feature the most aggressive grooves in golf, with a raw face that promotes maximum spin. For the first time ever, Callaway has brought tungsten technology to a wedge, for a weight balanced club that offers both feel and control.

Callum’s Chrome Soft X Golf Ball features new, proprietary Precision Technology, and is faster off the driver with a spin profile that is optimised for Tour pros and better players.

Finally, Callaway MB ’21 Irons and an Odyssey Toulon Madison Putter completed Callum’s winning equipment. Odyssey remains the #1 Putter on Tour and has incredibly been the #1 brand for the last 50 Majors.
